Disposable Diapers vs. Cloth Diapers

As a parent who has used disposable and cloth diapers, I can honestly say both have pros and cons. Cloth diapers are good diapers if you have your own washing machine and want to avoid last-minute trips to the store because you’re out of diapers. Cloth is also better for the environment and less likely to need diaper cream.

Disposables, however, are becoming more eco-conscious and gentler for your baby’s skin. In addition, disposables make traveling and errands easier and are accepted at childcare centers; cloth rarely is. 

Ultimately you need to weigh the pros and cons to decide on the best diaper type for your needs. Some parents, like myself, do a blend of both. 

How to Choose the Best Diapers?

To choose the best diapers, you should consider cost, fit, materials, special features, availability, and how eco-friendly they are. First, decide which of these factors is most important to you and which are least. 

Eco-Friendly

When choosing a baby diaper, many parents are concerned about the brand’s impact on the environment. Unfortunately, it is believed that conventional disposable diapers will take at least 300 years to decompose. 

Look for eco-friendly diapers made from plant-based materials that use sustainable materials or packaging, and use sustainable manufacturing practices. 

Materials
